ISLAMABAD: Workers’ remittances to Pakistan totaled $24 billion during the first eight months of the fiscal year 2024-25. In February, monthly inflows rose to $3.12 billion.
The State Bank of Pakistan reported that remittances increased by 32.5% from July to February FY25, compared to $18.1 billion in the same period of FY24.
In February, remittances hit $3.119 billion, up 38.6% from February 2024 and 3.8% higher than January 2025.
In February 2024, remittances were $2.25 billion, and in January 2025, the total was $3.003 billion.
The largest remittance inflows in February 2025 came from Saudi Arabia ($744.4 million), the United Arab Emirates ($652.2 million), the United Kingdom ($501.8 million), and the United States ($309.4 million).
Other contributions included $306.6 million from other GCC countries, $340.3 million from the European Union, $67.8 million from Australia, $56.4 million from Canada, $30.4 million from South Africa, $12.7 million from Malaysia, $9.8 million from Norway, $9 million from South Korea, and $5 million from Japan.
