ISLAMABAD: The President and Prime Minister, along with other important figures, paid tribute to the security forces for the safe recovery of the hostages in the Jafar Express operation and expressed grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of FC personnel, including the passengers.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar paid tribute to the security forces for the success of the Jafar Express operation and the safe recovery of the hostages. They expressed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of 21 civilians and 4 FC personnel. They said that the entire nation is deeply shocked by this heinous act and is saddened by the loss of innocent lives. Such cowardly acts cannot shake Pakistan’s resolve for peace.
According to the ISPR, the security forces launched a vigorous operation and rescued the hostages. All 33 terrorists present there were killed. The security forces’ snipers killed the suicide bombers. He further said that the operation was successful and no passenger was harmed during the operation. Before the operation, the terrorists martyred 21 innocent civilians. During the operation, 4 FC personnel were martyred.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that the entire nation is deeply shocked by the heinous terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express in Balochistan and is saddened by the loss of innocent lives. Such cowardly acts cannot shake Pakistan’s resolve for peace. In his post on social media, he said that he spoke to Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti who apprised him of the latest developments in the heinous terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express. The Prime Minister said that the entire nation is deeply shocked by this heinous act and is saddened by the loss of innocent lives. Such cowardly acts cannot shake Pakistan’s resolve for peace. The Prime Minister expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed that Allah Almighty may grant them a high place in Paradise and grant a speedy recovery to the injured. He said that dozens of terrorists have been sent to hell.
Statement of the Interior Minister:
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to the security forces for rescuing all the passengers held hostage by the terrorists in the Jafar Express and expressed deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of 21 passengers and 4 security personnel in the firing by the terrorists. In his statement, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi appreciated the professionalism of the security forces for killing all 33 terrorists. He said that the security forces operated with utmost caution to save the lives of women and children. Expressing his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the martyrs, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that all our sympathies are with the families of the martyrs and the injured. This incident of terrorism is very heartbreaking. Every citizen is depressed and saddened. Using innocent children and women as human shields is a very inhuman act. He said that the brave security forces thwarted the nefarious intentions of the terrorists and brought all the beasts to a tragic end. Mohsin Naqvi said that terrorists are a burden on this country and that with the support of the nation, it is time to eradicate this scourge forever. Along with terrorists, facilitators will also be dealt with with an iron fist.
