PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Thursday released Rs95.468 million to pay the pending salaries of the second shift school teachers of the province.
A statement issued by the KP government on Thursday said that with the efforts of Provincial Education Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai, funds of Rs95.468 million have been released to pay the salary arrears of teachers of the Double Shift Schools Program.
A formal notification of the release of funds has also been issued by the Finance Department.
According to Faisal Khan Tarakai, the arrears are being paid to teachers of male and female schools in seven selected districts, including Lower Chitral, Upper Chitral, Lakki Marwat, Upper Dir, Malakand, Peshawar and Swabi.
According to the Education Department, Rs38.529 million has been released for male schools in the selected districts and Rs56.939 million for female schools.

The Education Minister, Faisal Khan Tarakai, said on the occasion that teachers should continue teaching with more dedication and focus because the government was seriously addressing the problems of teachers.
He added that the output of the Double Shift Schools Program was very positive and encouraging.
