KARAK: Two miners have died following a salt mine collapse here on Friday.
Local authorities say that the incident occurred in Sarikhwwa area of Karak.
According to Rescue Spokesperson Asif Khattak, the victims identified as Rasool Zaman, 23-year-old, and Hidayatullah, 28-year-old, and other workers were busy in the mine when a portion of the mine caved in, burying them.
As a result, Rasool Zaman and Hidayatullah have died while another was injured.
Soon after the incident, the rescue workers started a rescue operation to retrieve the miners from the collapsed mine. After a few hours of hectic struggle, they retrieved the bodies and rescued the injured and shifted them to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The victims were residents of Mir Kalam area.
