Suicide bombers in Darul Uloom Haqqania, Bannu attack identified: IG KP

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Chief Zulfiqar Hameed claimed that the suicide bombers behind the Darul Uloom Haqqania and Bannu blasts have been identified.

The police chief said that the investigation into the Nowshera blasts is ongoing. CCTV footage of both incidents has been obtained. Officials identified the attackers through their body parts.

Police have also tracked the vehicles used in the Bannu attack. Foreign weapons were used, and authorities are tracing their origin and how it smuggled to Pakistan.

Families of the 12 martyrs of the Bannu blast have received compensation checks of Rs 1 million each.

Over 100 suspects involved in unrest in Kurram have been arrested. “Terrorism is now a factor in Kurram. We have devised a separate strategy to prevent further incidents,” Hameed stated.

Commenting on Kurram situation, the police chief assured that lasting peace in Kurram will be restored soon.

The Safe City project has been approved and will be completed in the coming months.
