Police Retaliate, Kill Militant Following Attack on Patrol in Lakki Marwat

LAKKI MARWAT:A police van driver was injured Friday when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near the Landiwah area of Lakki Marwat, officials said. In the ensuing retaliatory action by police, one terrorist was killed, according to sources.

The attack was part of a series of violent incidents targeting security forces in the region. Late Thursday night, terrorists attacked the Dadiwala police station but were repelled after police responded swiftly. Shortly after, the Darra Pezo police station was also attacked, prompting an exchange of gunfire between police and the assailants. Officials reported no casualties or damage on either side during the prolonged firefight.

Early Friday morning, terrorists launched another attack, this time targeting the Abbasa Khattak police post under the jurisdiction of the Dadiwala police station. The assault damaged a police vehicle and left three officers injured. Police retaliated immediately, killing one terrorist and seizing weapons and a motorcycle from the attackers.

Authorities have not yet identified the group responsible for the attacks. Security forces have intensified operations in the area following the incidents.
