PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has removed Secretary Information Arshad Khan from his post, taking strict action for violating the government advertisement policy.
According to the policy, the inclusion of a political figure’s picture or political content in advertisements issued from government funds is not allowed, and these are reserved only for public interest and awareness.
The Deputy Secretary (Coordination) of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary in this regard and informed him about the violation of the advertisement policy, after which the Chief Secretary has issued a notification to remove the Secretary Information from his post and report to the Establishment Division.
The Deputy Secretary of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat wrote in his letter that clear instructions have been issued not only in writing but also verbally regarding the policy of government advertisements and that institutions are prohibited from placing pictures of political figures in government advertisements. In this regard, clear instructions were also issued about this policy at an iftar ceremony yesterday. However, the said policy has been violated in the advertisements of the Information Department published in various newspapers today.
The Deputy Secretary of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat has directed the department to identify those responsible for violating the policy in the advertisements published by the Chief Secretary today and take action against them and to submit their report in this regard within 72 hours.
According to sources, the picture of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has been placed in the advertisements issued by the Information Department in various newspapers today.
