PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has issued instructions to all districts’ concerned authorities to ensure effective arrangements on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Chief Minister’s Secretariat has issued a twenty-point letter to the Administrative Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Police and other concerned institutions.
All Deputy Commissioners have been directed to hold meetings with the relevant institutions in their districts and formulate a comprehensive security plan for Eid prayers in Eidgahs, mosques and Imambargahs.
The letter highlighted that It would be necessary to take prior permission from the concerned higher authorities before any administrative officer leaves his duty station. There will be a complete ban on aerial firing and fireworks on the moon night. Strict action would be taken against violators.
The letter also mentioned that public transport fares should be strictly monitored and action should be taken against those charging excessive fares. One-wheeling, speeding and riding motorcycles without helmets will be completely banned, for which traffic police contingents will be deployed on roads.
Instructions have also been issued for better traffic arrangements on tourist spots and roads leading to Eid-ul-Fitr, and tourism police and civil defence personnel should be deployed wherever necessary.
Special cleaning campaigns would also be conducted in public places, markets and Eidgahs, and lady police personnel would be deployed in markets crowded with women. There would be a complete ban on bathing in fast-flowing rivers, and life jackets will be mandatory for boating.
