QUETTA: At least two people were killed and 17 others including police personnel were injured in an explosion near a police van in Quetta on Thursday, confirmed the spokesperson of the Health Department.
Civil Hospital spokesperson said that the hospital has so far received 17 injured individuals.
According to media reports, police were among the injured in the blast that occurred outside the Double Road market. Initial reports say that a police mobile was caught in the explosion.
Apparently, the target of the blast was the police mobile.
As a result of the blast, four personnel of the police were injured in the blast. The rescue officials and personnel of the law enforcement agencies were deployed at the blast site.
Police said that the nature of the blast was yet to be ascertained.
Balochistan government spokesperson strongly condemned the attack and said that the injured are being shifted to the hospital for treatment.
