PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to commence work on the Peshawar Safe City project after Eid, officials confirmed.
According to police officials, the project’s first phase will see the installation of 700 surveillance cameras at 100 key locations across the city to enhance security and monitoring.
In the second phase, the Safe City initiative will be expanded to southern districts, with work set to begin in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan). Officials stated that the necessary groundwork for these areas has already been completed.
“The implementation of the Safe City project will be visible in the coming days,” a police official said, emphasising that the initiative aims to improve law enforcement, traffic management, and public safety.
