KP lawyers protest Israel’s latest offensive in Gaza

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) lawyers boycotted court proceedings across the province to protest Israeli bombardment and express solidarity with Palestinians.

Lawyers on the appeal of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council remained stay away from courts including the Peshawar High Court and held protest demonstrations in all districts against the Israeli bombardment in Gaza.

The development takes place amid the latest Israeli military campaigns in Gaza after it broke down last month’s ceasefire with Hamas.

Yesterday, the KP Bar Council had announced the boycott of the courts against the recent Israeli military campaigns in Gaza.

After securing hostages, Israel resumed ground operations in the central and southern Gaza Strip and forced hundreds of thousands to flee again.

The KP Bar Council urged Muslim rulers to show unity and compelled Israelis to honour the ceasefire deal.

At least 50,000 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli’s ground and air offensive in Gaza since October 2023, Palestinian officials say.
