6M Children to get Polio drops in KP from April 21

6.5 Million Children to Be Vaccinated in KP’s Polio Campaign

PESHAWAR: A five-day polio eradication campaign will begin in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on April 21, targeting over 6 million children under the age of five across the province. The initiative, organized by the provincial health department, aims to immunize children against the poliovirus through oral vaccine drops.

In Peshawar alone, more than 800,000 children will be vaccinated during the campaign. To ensure smooth operations, authorities have formed over 30,000 polio teams, comprising health workers and volunteers, who will go door-to-door to administer the drops. Additionally, around 50,000 police personnel will be deployed to provide security for the teams and maintain order during the drive.
