First annual convention for overseas Pakistanis kicks off in Islamabad

 

ISLAMABAD: The first-ever convention for overseas Pakistanis commenced at the Convention Center in Islamabad on Sunday. The purpose of the convention is to recognize the contributions of overseas Pakistanis.

The inaugural ceremony of the Overseas Pakistanis Convention took place at the convention center, where the Chairman of the Senate is expected to deliver the opening address. On April 15, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir are likely to address this significant event. More than 1,500 overseas Pakistanis are set to participate.

The arrival of overseas Pakistanis from various countries began with the first Overseas Pakistanis Convention, with participants being welcomed with full honor and protocol. Attendees from different nations expressed their support for the current government, hoping that its policies will facilitate new investment opportunities for overseas Pakistanis.

Information Minister Atta Tarar stated that the Overseas Pakistanis Convention is being held in Pakistan to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of overseas Pakistanis. He emphasized that these individuals help enhance Pakistan’s reputation globally and contribute significantly to the country’s prosperity by sending billions of dollars in remittances annually.

Atta Tarar further highlighted that overseas Pakistanis are a source of pride and are vital to the country’s economic development.
