RAWALPINDI: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur is expected to meet former prime minister Imran Khan at Adiala Jail today (Monday).
According to media reports, Ali Amin Gandapur will consult party founding chairman Imran Khan on key internal party matters and proposed Mines and Minerals Act 2025 that draw strong criticism within ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
He will also discuss party issues and internal rift within the PTI leadership.
It is pertinent to mention here that even before a new mining authority was formed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, controversy started over the proposed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa- KP Mines and Minerals Act 2025 after the ruling party divided over the proposed law.

The Awami National Party (ANP) has strongly opposed the proposed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KP Mines and Minerals Act 2025, calling it an attack on the province’s resources and sovereignty.
ANP’s provincial president, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, stated that the new law goes against the spirit of provincial autonomy and violates the 18th Amendment of Pakistan’s Constitution. He accused the government of trying to impose federal control over KP’s mineral resources.
