KARAL: At least 10 people were killed and eight others injured on Tuesday in a collision between a van and a trailer in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to reports, the fatal crash occurred on the Indus Highway when a high-speed coach and a trailer collided near Lakki Ghundaki area of the district.
According to rescue 1122, some passengers are still trapped under the container, and heavy machinery has been called in to pull them.
The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention, where the condition of some is said to be critical.
Rescue teams are at the scene and rescue operations are underway.
The accident affected the flow of traffic on the Indus Highway, while local police have started investigating the incident.
