Iran’s foreign minister to visit Russia ahead of nuclear talks with US

Iran's foreign minister to visit Moscow for crucial nuclear talks amid rising tensions

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, will travel to Russia this week for discussions with Russian officials before a second round of indirect talks between Iran and the US on Tehran’s nuclear program. The negotiations are expected to take place in Oman’s capital, Muscat.

In another diplomatic move, the head of the UN’s nuclear watchdog, Rafael Grossi, will visit Tehran tomorrow. Russia, a key ally of Iran, has supported Tehran in past nuclear talks and was part of the 2015 nuclear deal, which former US President Donald Trump abandoned.
