PESHAWAR: Residents in several districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa felt earthquake tremors. The Seismological Center recorded the quake at a magnitude of 5.3.
The epicenter lay in Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush region, at a depth of 121 kilometers.
Tremors shook areas including Upper Dir, Chitral, Shangla, Buner, Bajaur, and Ghizer. Major cities like Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujrat, Taxila, and Wah Cantt also felt the quake.
Frightened residents ran out of their homes.
Officials confirmed no casualties or major damage so far.
About two weeks ago, strong tremors also hit Islamabad, Peshawar, and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. People rushed outside while praying.
