ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Bangladesh will begin talks today in Dhaka. Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch has already arrived in the city. This marks the first advisory meeting between the two countries in 13 years.
Both sides will be led by their foreign secretaries. They will head their respective delegations.
This meeting resumes bilateral political consultations last held in 2012. Officials see it as a key step to improve ties.
Bangladesh’s Director General for South Asia, Ishrat Jahan, welcomed Baloch on arrival.
The talks will cover mutual concerns, regional issues, and ways to boost cooperation.
After the meeting, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar will visit Bangladesh from April 22 to 24. His visit aims to deepen economic and political ties.
Officials expect both events to improve relations between the two nations.
