PMD forecasts rain with winds, thunderstorms for various parts of KP

KP's upper areas receives heavy hailstorm, flash floods

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a fresh spell of rain with thunderstorms and strong winds for various regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) over the next 24 hours. Areas likely affected include Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Battagram, Buner, Kurram, Bajaur, and Mohmand.
Residents in these regions are advised to take necessary precautions, as heavy rainfall and gusty winds may disrupt daily activities and create travel difficulties.
Meanwhile, most of the province experienced hot and dry weather, with very high temperatures recorded in the southern districts over the last 24 hours.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, a woman named Saminaz Bibi, daughter of Taj Khan and a resident of Mangari, sadly died in Shangla due to a thunder strike.
