RAWALPINDI: In the 9th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, held at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Peshawar Zalmi set a formidable target of 227 runs for Multan Sultans.
After winning the toss, Peshawar Zalmi elected to bat first. Despite early setbacks with the dismissals of openers Saim Ayub and Babar Azam, the team recovered strongly. Tom Kohler-Cadmore led the charge with a brisk 52 off 30 balls, including five sixes. He was well-supported by Mohammad Haris, who scored 45 runs from 21 deliveries, and Abdul Samad, who contributed a rapid 40 off just 14 balls. Mitchell Owen also added a quick 34 runs in 15 balls. The team’s aggressive batting ensured a challenging total of 227/7 in their allotted 20 overs.
Multan Sultans’ bowlers faced a tough time containing the onslaught. David Willey and Michael Bracewell managed to take two wickets each, while Ubaid Shah also claimed two wickets. However, the overall bowling effort couldn’t prevent Zalmi from posting a massive total.
Both teams entered this match seeking their first win of the season, having lost their initial two games. This high-scoring encounter was crucial for both sides to gain momentum in the tournament.
