4.4 magnitude earthquake jolts Swat and adjoining areas

Earthquake tremors strike Swat, surrounding areas Residents of Swat and Mingora felt earthquake tremors on March 5. Many people rushed out of homes and buildings in fear. No casualties or property damage have been reported. The seismic center recorded a 4.2 magnitude quake. It had a depth of 64 kilometers. The epicenter was in the Hindu Kush mountains. This region is known for frequent seismic activity. The tremors were brief but strong enough to cause panic. Just a week ago, strong tremors hit Islamabad, Peshawar, and other parts of KP. People fled buildings and recited prayers during that quake too.

PESHAWAR: An earthquake jolted Swat and various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today, Sunday, triggering tremors and sparking widespread alarm.

According to the National Seismological Centre, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck Swat and its surrounding areas, with tremors originating from the Hindu Kush mountain range at a depth of 185 kilometres. The quake’s impact was felt across nearby districts, leaving many residents visibly shaken but safe.

In response to the shaking, many people rushed out of their homes in fear, reciting verses from the Holy Quran. Fortunately, no casualties or property damage have been reported from Swat.
