ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar issued a stern warning to India against any misadventure.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Tarar emphasized that Pakistan was in constant communication with its allied countries. He accused India of consistently violating human rights and stated that there was irrefutable evidence of Indian involvement in various incidents.
He pointed out that India appeared anxious and had yet to complete the necessary formalities, noting that the Pahalgam attack had occurred only a few days earlier.
“Pakistan itself has been a victim of terrorism, standing on the front lines and making over 90,000 sacrifices,” Tarar said.
He highlighted Pakistan’s extensive sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, including economic losses amounting to billions of dollars. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s condemnation of all forms of terrorism and referenced the Jaffar Express attack, where innocent civilians had been taken hostage.
Tarar noted that while the international community had condemned the Jaffar Express attack, India had remained silent. He further accused India of engaging in state-sponsored terrorism within Pakistan.
Referring to Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, Tarar said that terrorists in Pakistan had been funded and armed from the eastern border. He asserted Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to fighting terrorism and safeguarding its citizens.
Addressing the conduct of political rivals, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader criticized “Fitna-ul-Kharij” for refusing to disclose its violent agenda.
He questioned the hasty accusations leveled at Pakistan following the Pahalgam incident, pointing out that the location was over 100 kilometers from the Line of Control and that an FIR was filed within just ten minutes. “We called for a transparent investigation. Our conscience is clear. Pakistan is a peace-loving country that seeks global harmony,” he stressed.
Tarar also cited evidence of Indian-sponsored terrorism in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and recalled attacks on the Pakistani High Commission in London, where windows were smashed and stones hurled.
Concluding his remarks, he affirmed Pakistan’s resolve to defend itself under any circumstances and quipped, “We are excellent hosts — and we serve a fantastic cup of tea.”
