PESHAWAR: At least 10 people have been killed in firing incidents in the provincial capital Peshawar in last 24 hours.
According to the Phandu police station of Peshawar, the first incident occurred a day earlier when six persons were gunned down in Jamil Chowk Ring Road. They were returning to their car after a attending wedding ceremony when their car was fired upon.
Five people were killed on the spot in the firing by unknown persons, who were identified as Abdullah son of Badam Gul, Tahir son of Nawab, Usama son of Himayatullah, Owais son of Syed Badshah and Waqas. In the said firing incident in Peshawar, a passerby, Yahya son of Sarkar, was also killed by bullets and Saqib son of Syed Ahmed Shah was injured.
It was reported regarding the incident that three friends are among those killed in the unfortunate incident, one of whom is said to belong to Hazar Khawani and the other is said to be from Swabi.
On receiving information about the firing on the vehicle, SP Faqirabad Muhammad Arshad Khan and DSP Umar Afridi also reached the spot along with a team and shifted the bodies for post mortem and the injured to the hospital for first aid.
Police said that the incident was a result of previous enmity, however, a case will be registered against the accused on the complaint of the relatives of the deceased.
According to the police, in the unfortunate incident that took place in Phandu, the young son of former Nazim of Hazar Khawani, Himayat Khan, was also killed who belonged to Badhaber and had an old enmity.
It should be noted that social media users have also raised questions about the increasing incidents of murder due to the abundance of weapons and the display of weapons in the streets of Peshawar, where the atmosphere of the city has become mournful after killing of10 people in Faqirabad, Phandu, Shahpur and other areas of the city in the past 24 hours.
Later to this a school teacher was killed in the Faqirabad area of Peshawar and a woman was shot dead by a TikToker in Faqirabad itself. Similarly, a lady constable was killed in Shahpur.
