A sigh of relief: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Thursday predicted rain in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from tomorrow.
Thunderstorms, wind and hail are expected in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the PDMA (Provincial Disaster Management Authority), these rains are expected to continue intermittently from tomorrow to Monday.
The PDMA has issued instructions to all district administrations to take precautionary measures in this regard.
According to the Meteorological Department and PDMA, these rains may affect Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Malakand, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Waziristan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Bannu, Karak and Kohat.
The PDMA has directed the district administration to ensure the availability of machinery to deal with any possible emergency arising from the rains. Similarly, the concerned agencies have been asked to be ready to provide alternative routes in case of road closures.
The public has been directed to stay away from bare electric wires, dilapidated buildings, signboards and billboards during the rain.
The PDMA has also appealed to farmers to adjust their agricultural routines, keeping in mind the weather conditions. Tourists and people living in sensitive upper areas have been directed to take precautionary measures and stay informed about weather updates.
The PDMA has also directed the district administration to provide information in local languages in sensitive areas so that timely awareness can be reached by the public.
According to the DG PDMA, tourists should contact the PDMA helpline before travelling regarding the weather and road conditions to avoid any possible problems.
