Abbottabad admin bans aerial firing, fireworks on Eid

Pakistan, Saudi Arabia likely to celebrate Eid on same day

ABBOTTABAD: Authorities in Abbottabad imposed Section 144 on Thursday, March 30, to ensure public safety during Eid-ul-FitrAbbottabad celebrations and address potential law and Abbottabadorder concerns. The seven-day ban, effective until April 5, prohibits aerial firing, one-wheeling, overspeeding, and the use of pressure horns on vehicles.

Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad also banned swimming and boating at Sajikot waterfall without life jackets, citing safety risks. Additionally, recreational rides such as dolly lifts, cable cars, and chairlifts must now operate with valid fitness certificates to prevent accidents.

“These measures are critical to safeguarding citizens during the festive period,” the Deputy Commissioner stated. Violators will face legal action under the Pakistan Penal Code.
