Including Assistant Commissioners for tehsil Babuzai, Khwazakhela, ADC relief among several officers have been suspended in Swat tragedy where 18 persons, including 10 of a family swept away by flash floods.
On the instructions of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, several officials were immediately suspended due to poor performance, according to spokesperson Faraz Ahmed Mughal.
The Chief Minister’s Inspection Team has been directed to conduct a formal inquiry, as stated by the spokesperson.
Initially, Assistant Commissioner Babuzai was suspended for a slow response. Assistant Commissioner Khawaza Khela was also suspended for failing to provide timely advance warnings.
The ADC Relief was suspended for not making prior arrangements, and a decision was made to immediately suspend the district in-charge of Rescue 1122 as well.

GDA on High Alert as Roads Cleared Following Landslides and Heavy Rain in Galiyat
Abbottabad — Director General Galiyat Development Authority (GDA), Mr. Shahrukh Ali, has placed all field staff on high alert following heavy rainfall and landslides across the Galiyat region.
According to GDA officials, the road blockage at the popular tourist spot Kundla has been successfully cleared. GDA teams were promptly deployed at the site, removing the debris and ensuring the resumption of normal traffic flow.
DG Shahrukh Ali stated that landslides at various locations across Galiyat are also being actively cleared. “Our field teams are fully mobilized and utilizing all available resources to maintain road accessibility and ensure tourist safety,” he added.
He further advised tourists to avoid unnecessary travel during rain and to refrain from parking vehicles along the roadside, in order to prevent any potential accidents.
Galiyat development authority GDA has completed all necessary emergency preparedness measures, and its teams remain vigilant and ready to respond to any developing situation in the region.
