Addressing grievances of Bhasha and Dasu projects' affected people is the government's top priority: Amir Muqam

 

CHILAS: In a high level meeting at the divisional headquarters of Diamer, Chilas, Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam has said addressing of Bhasha and Dasu energy projects affected people is among the government foremost priorities.

A special committee formed by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, led by Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan affairs Engineer Amir Muqam, visited Chilas, Gilgit-Baltistan and met the affected people of Bhasha Dam.

GB chief minister, Chairman Wapda and other government officials were present on the occasion.

Addressing the participants, Federal Minister Amir Muqam said that the rehabilitation of the affected people of Bhasha Dam and Dasu Dam and the development of the area are among the top priorities of the government.

Federal Minister Amir Muqam said that the issues of stove package, resettlement program, health, education and infrastructure are being resolved on a priority basis.

Federal Minister Amir Muqam also promised a special recommendation to the Prime Minister for the establishment of a Danish School in Chilas during the visit.

WAPDA also announced that it would double the session in WAPDA College for the affected people and reduce the fees of medical and engineering students.

Amir Muqam further said that along with the construction of 23 schools to be built under WAPDA, it also announced doubling the session at WAPDA College for the affected people and reducing the fees of medical and engineering students. Federal Minister Amir Muqam further said that along with the construction of 23 schools to be built under CBM, payment of land compensation should also be ensured.
