During the opening T20 match of a tri-series in Sharjah, a large number of Afghan cricket fans without tickets forced their way into the stadium. The crowd broke the main gate and a gate specifically reserved for fans.
The stadium administration had taken special measures to prevent clashes between Pakistani and Afghan fans, which have occurred in the past. These measures included separate stands, pavilions, and entry routes for each group. Ticket colors were also different, with green for Pakistani supporters and blue for Afghan supporters.
Despite these precautions, the breach occurred. On the field, Pakistan won the match by 39 runs.
