Afghanistan reveals Squad for Asia Cup & T20 tri-series

Cricket fans from Pakistan and Afghanistan will have separate entries and seating areas during the upcoming three-nation T20 series in the UAE, organizers announced.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Monday announced a 22-member preliminary squad for the upcoming T20 tri-series against Pakistan and UAE, followed by the Asia Cup 2025.

The squad, led by captain Rashid Khan, will undergo a two-week training camp before the final 15 players are selected. The tri-series will be held at Sharjah Cricket Stadium from August 29 to September 7, while the Asia Cup runs from September 9-28 in the UAE.

Key Players in Preliminary Squad:

  • Rashid Khan (Captain)

  • Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran (Top-order batters)

  • Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai (All-rounders)

  • Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Noor Ahmed (Spinners)

  • Fazalhaq Farooqi, Naveen-ul-Haq (Pacers)

The final squad will be trimmed to 15 players after the training camp.
