SWAT: The leadership team of Al-khidmat foundation launched the ‘Clean and Green Pakistan’ campaign and in Kalam forest of Swat and conveyed a message to the nation to keep the surrounding environment clean to accomplish their religious obligation and teaching of Islam.
This cleanliness campaign was conducted under the “Clean and Green Pakistan” campaign in collaboration with Al-Khidmat Foundation and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA).
On this occasion, activist picked up garbage, collected and disposed of plastic, bottles, empty chips packets, and other waste from roads, forest paths, and tourist spots.
Addressing on the occasion participants said that children were also made aware of the impacts of environmental pollution, the importance of trees and greenery, and the harmful effects of plastic. These activities proved to help develop the personality and leadership skills of children. They were given practical training to become conscious and active citizens of the society.
They said that a clean environment was more attractive to tourists, which not only benefits the local economy but also highlights the positive image of Pakistan at the international level.
They added that mission is practical proof that better results can be achieved when voluntary organisations and government agencies unite for a common goal.
It is to mentioned here that the role of Al-Khidmat Foundation is not limited to social services only, but it also performs prominent services in important sectors like education, health, orphan care, and environmental protection.
This cleanliness drive of Kalam is not the first event of the foundation as earlier to this they organized such type of activities to clean the environment from pollution.
