Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan, and SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam, held an important meeting on Friday with PML-N presidents and key party leaders from the merged districts of the former FATA.
During the meeting, the delegation briefed Engineer Amir Muqam, who is also the PML-N President for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on the major issues affecting the region.
Muqam listened attentively and expressed strong support for their concerns, declaring their demands “completely valid” and reaffirming his commitment to addressing them.
“The well-being of the people in the merged districts is our priority. I am dedicated to offering every possible assistance. These districts have a distinct identity and significance,” Muqam stated.
The delegation expressed full confidence in Engineer Amir Muqam’s leadership and praised his ongoing efforts to resolve longstanding issues and promote the welfare of the people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Muqam highlighted that the federal government, under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is prioritising the development and support of the merged districts.
The meeting was attended by prominent PML-N figures from across the merged districts, including former MNAs Malik Nazir and Malik Spingul, Senior Vice President Inayat Khan, Coordinator Zar Khan Safi, Faqir Muhammad, Gul Karim, Malik Shaban Orakzai, Sanaullah, Abdul Karim Abid, Mir Badshah Jandola, Saeed Duraz Khan, Kashif Khan, Naqeebullah Mehsud, and Akhtar Zaman. Member of the Provincial Assembly Sardar Shah Jehan Yousaf also participated.

Pakistan has decided to appoint an ambassador to Afghanistan. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced the social networking platform X. In his message, Dar noted that since his visit to Kabul on April 19, there has been positive progress in relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan. He expressed his satisfaction in announcing that Pakistan will appoint an ambassador in Kabul, moving beyond the previous diplomatic status of a chargé d’affaires.
