PESHAWAR:Awami National Party (ANP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Mian Iftikhar Hussain has strongly opposed the proposed Mines and Minerals Bill, calling it a conspiracy by the federal government and powerful circles to seize the province’s resources. He vowed that the ANP would resist the move at all costs.
Speaking about the party’s ongoing movement, Hussain said the second phase has begun, with public conferences, protests, and awareness campaigns being organized at the village council level. The first phase included all-party conferences and district-level meetings, as directed by ANP Central President Aimal Wali Khan.
Hussain emphasized that the 18th Constitutional Amendment ensures provincial autonomy, and the ANP will fight to protect it. He stated that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are the rightful owners of their resources and warned against any unconstitutional interference.
He also urged democratic forces, civil society, and the public to join the movement and defend provincial rights.
