Awami National Party (ANP) provincial leader Shagufta Malik has sharply criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government for allocating 80 million to the Lahore High Court Bar Association while the province grapples with severe shortages in education, healthcare, and employment. Malik labeled the move a “betrayal” of KP’s citizens during a press statement on Saturday .
Malik revealed that the KP government first disbursed 30 million to the Lahore High Court Bar, followed by an additional 50 million. She questioned the priorities, asking, “Has our province become so rich? Are our people so prosperous?” while highlighting crumbling schools, under-resourced hospitals, and rising youth unemployment . She further accused Chief Minister Mahmood Khan of enriching himself as citizens “sink into poverty.”
The ANP leader also demanded an investigation into missing solar systems for mosques and schools in Mardan, citing advance payments to contractors with no deliverables. “Where did this money go? Where are the contractors?” she asked, urging immediate accountability .
