PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party (ANP) has stepped up its efforts to contact all important political leaders for the All Parties Conference (APC) to be held on August 17.

ANP President Senator Aimal Wali Khan has formally invited Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Chief Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, National Democratic Movement Chairman Mohsin Dawar and Qaumi Watan Party Central Chairman Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao to attend the APC.

Senator Aimal Wali Khan met various leaders at their residences and invited them to attend the conference and held a detailed discussion on the national security and the ongoing terrorism situation in Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

The ANP President says that this conference will be an important effort to build consensus among all political parties on the points of the National Peace Jirga and the previous APC held in Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

He said that Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan are burning in the fire of terrorism, and if it is not addressed in time, the patience of the people may give out, so political parties will have to unite and face this challenge.
