The Awami National Party (ANP) won the reserved women’s seat in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly over the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf parliamentarian (PTI). Gurpal Singh was elected unopposed on the reserved minority seat.
According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, the toss held between the PTI-P and ANP on Thursday on the women’s reserved seat of the KP assembly.
It said a woman candidate of ANP, Shahida Waheed elected after winning a toss from the PTI-P candidate.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s Gurpal Singh Afridi was elected to a minority seat in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly without the need for a toss. This was made possible when PML-N provincial president Amir Muqam announced his withdrawal from the toss. Gurpal Singh Afridi is a member of the Malik Din Khel tribe, which is located in Khyber Tehsil, Bara.
