PESHAWAR: Asfandyar Wali Khan, the former chief of the Awami National Party (ANP), has issued a legal notice for Rs100 million to Shafi Jan, a member of the provincial assembly from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The notice was sent through the well-known lawyer Tariq Afghan.
According to the notice, Shafi Jan made baseless and serious allegations against Asfandyar Wali Khan during a speech in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on August 22. In his speech, the MPA accused Asfandyar Wali of accepting payments in dollars to betray the interests of the Pashtun people. The notice describes these allegations as completely false and defamatory.
The notice also states that, in addition to making these claims on the assembly floor, Shafi Jan posted a video of his speech on his personal Facebook page, which has harmed Asfandyar Wali’s reputation and emotionally affected him.

Furthermore, the notice references previous accusations by former PTI provincial minister Shaukat Yousafzai, which were similarly unproven in court, leading to a verdict against him. The legal notice demands that Shafi Jan apologise within 15 days and remove the related video from Facebook. If he fails to comply, further legal action will be taken.
