RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s top military leaders, including Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, paid tribute to Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed on his 67th martyrdom anniversary. Major Tufail, a recipient of Pakistan’s highest military award, Nishan-e-Haider, was remembered for his bravery and sacrifice in the 1958 battle in Lakshmipur, East Pakistan.
Despite being severely wounded, Major Tufail led a bold attack against enemy forces and completed his mission before embracing martyrdom. His courage earned him a place among Pakistan’s greatest war heroes.
The Armed Forces of Pakistan honored Major Tufail and all martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Their legacy continues to inspire future generations, and Pakistan remains grateful for their sacrifices in defending the country’s sovereignty and peace.
