RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s top military leadership, including Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, today solemnly commemorated the supreme sacrifice of Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed, recipient of the Nishan-e-Haider, on the anniversary of his martyrdom.
Havildar Lalak Jan laid down his life defending Pakistan during the 1999 Kargil conflict. On this day 26 years ago, he displayed exceptional bravery by repeatedly repelling enemy attacks on his post despite suffering critical injuries. Refusing to be evacuated, he continued fighting until he succumbed to his wounds.
The Armed Forces and the nation remembered his courage and sacrifice with deep respect and gratitude. His legacy was hailed as a lasting inspiration for current and future generations of soldiers.
