30 tons of aid arrive from Russia for conflict-stricken Kurram

 

ISLAMABAD: Russia has provided 30 tons of aid for Kurram victims on the appeal of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, which arrived in Islamabad on Thursday.

At the request of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor, Faisal Karim Kundi, Russia provided humanitarian aid to Kurram victims before Eid-ul-Fitr.

The aid was delivered by a special flight of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in cooperation with the Russian Embassy in Pakistan.

The aid was handed over to the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS). On this occasion, Farzand Ali Wazir, Vice Chairman of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Red Crescent, his team and Muhammad Obaidullah, General Secretary of the Red Crescent National Headquarters, received the aid on behalf of the organization.

The aid includes food, medicines, clothing and other essential items.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi expressed his deep gratitude for the prompt and generous response from Russia to his appeal.

At the ceremony, Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert P. Khorev called humanitarian cooperation an important pillar in strengthening Pak-Russia relations.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan and other representatives were also present at the ceremony.
