Asim Munir explores British military modernization during UK visit

Pakistan Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir is currently on an official visit to the United Kingdom, where he is engaging in high-level discussions and observing the latest advancements in military technology. The visit, which began on the invitation of General Roland Walker, Chief of the General Staff of the UK Army, aims to strengthen bilateral military ties and explore opportunities for collaboration in modern warfare strategies.

During his trip, General Munir visited the Warminster and Larkhill Garrisons, where he was briefed on the British Army’s modernization plans, including the development of the Deep Recce Strike Brigade. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that the Pakistan Army Chief was shown cutting-edge military technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and uncrewed systems, which are reshaping the future of warfare.

On February 19, General Munir was accorded a ceremonial guard of honor, reflecting the significance of his visit and the strong diplomatic and military relations between Pakistan and the UK. His itinerary also included participation in the seventh Regional Stabilisation Conference, held at the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. The conference serves as a platform for fostering military dialogue and cooperation between the two nations.

At the event, General Asim Munir delivered a keynote address titled “The Emerging World Order and Pakistan’s Future Outlook.” His speech highlighted Pakistan’s strategic vision and its role in the evolving global landscape. The conference brought together policymakers, military officials, and experts from influential think tanks, promoting collaboration between civilian and military sectors to address regional and global security challenges.
