KARAK; Unknown motorcyclists opened fire on Station Housing Officer (SHO) in Totakai area of Karak district early Saturday morning.
The attack occurred in jurisdiction of Khurram Police Station.
A police spokesperson said that one attacker, while another escaped in retaliatory firing. The attacker was also involved in attacks on polio vaccination teams and police in the area, it added.
A heavy police contingent was dispatched to Totakai area and cordoned off the mountainous area and launched a search for the escaped militant.
A large-scale search operation is underway to track down the suspects.
