BAJAUR:Awami National Party (ANP) MPA Nisar Baz Khan conducted a detailed inspection of District Headquarters Hospital DHQ Bajaur Khar on Tuesday. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Shahid Ali, health officials, and party leaders to review medical services and facilities.
During the visit, Khan checked medicine availability, lab performance, cleanliness, and the non-functional full-body scan machine. He ordered immediate distribution of medicines to patients, especially in emergency and operation areas. Medical Superintendent Dr. Hayat Afridi briefed him on hospital operations, including efforts to curb “ghost employees” through biometric attendance.
Khan expressed concern over the scan machine lying unused for three years due to a lack of trained staff. The DC and MPA directed authorities to train existing staff to operate it. Khan also demanded digitization of hospital records, monthly public reports on expenses, and a displayed list of available medicines.
Dr. Afridi assured compliance, noting improvements since Khan’s last visit four months ago, including cheaper lab tests and better emergency supplies. Khan stressed the need for anti-rabies vaccines, prompting the DC to confirm strict orders for their availability.
Finally, Khan revealed that upgrade projects for Khar Hospital—including a new labor room, staff hostels, and BHUs conversion to RHCs—are likely in the upcoming budget.
