BAJAUR: Assistant Commissioner Dr. Sadiq Ali led a rigorous inspection of Siddiqabad Phatak market under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s “Public Agenda” initiative. Acting on directives from Deputy Commissioner Shahid Ali, the operation targeted multiple businesses for regulatory compliance.
Inspectors scrutinized sweets and bakery shops for hygiene standards, pricing, and expired goods. Medical stores and clinics underwent checks for registration validity and the presence of fake or substandard medicines. Grocery stores were audited for accurate price lists and expired items, while chicken shops were monitored for proper weights and measures. Chip shops and warehouses faced evaluation over unhygienic conditions, and plastic bag vendors were cited for illegal materials.
Seven shops were immediately sealed for violations, with arrests made and legal proceedings initiated. Authorities confiscated expired, substandard, and prohibited items on-site. The drive underscores the district’s push for consumer safety and market accountability.
