SYLHET: Bangladesh sealed the three-match T20I series against the Netherlands with a dominant nine-wicket victory in the second game on Monday, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead.
Batting first on a slow, turning pitch, the Netherlands managed just 103 for 6 in 17.3 overs. Off-spinner Nasum Ahmed starred with figures of 3 for 21, while pacers Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman grabbed two wickets each. Aryan Dutt’s 30 off 24 balls was the only bright spot for the visitors.
In reply, Bangladesh chased down the target in just 13.1 overs, finishing at 104 for 1. Parvez Hossain Emon scored 23 before departing, while Tanzid Hasan anchored the innings with a 39-ball half-century, supported by skipper Litton Das.
Litton praised the team’s preparation and credited Nasum’s spell as decisive. Dutch captain Scott Edwards admitted his side struggled to adapt to conditions and said defending a low total without early breakthroughs was always tough, though he expressed hope of a stronger showing in the final match.
