Bangladesh High Commissioner calls for stronger ties between Dhaka and Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan, Iqbal Hossain Khan, said that the people of Pakistan warmly welcomed him and his delegation during their visit to Lahore.

Speaking at the Lahore Press Club, the High Commissioner expressed optimism about the future of Pakistan-Bangladesh relations. “We are moving forward in all areas, including trade, culture, and sports,” he said. He emphasised the mutual desire of the people of both countries to strengthen ties. “Our relationship will continue to grow stronger,” he added. The High Commissioner also suggested that the film industries of Bangladesh and Pakistan could collaborate on joint productions. Highlighting the natural beauty of Pakistan, he said, “This country has mountains, deserts, and plains — it’s a land of great diversity.” He further noted that Bangladeshi students prefer coming to Pakistan for higher education and appreciated the opportunities available here. Iqbal Hossain Khan also announced that direct flights between Pakistan and Bangladesh would begin soon, making travel between the two countries more convenient.
