Bannu municipal staff protest pending salaries

Municipal Committee employees and pensioners in Bannu protested vehemently against non-payment of salaries and pensions for the past four months.
The protesters lay down on the road in the scorching heat, during which many employees became unconscious.
Female employees also participated in the protest.
The protesters stated that due to non-payment of salaries and pensions, the stoves in their homes have gone out, and shopkeepers have refused to extend credit to them.
They warned that the continuous financial hardship is forcing them to take extreme measures like suicide.
The protest participants shouted slogans against the provincial government and the Chief Minister, demanding that their due salaries and pensions be released immediately so that they could live a dignified life.
