For the first time in 65 years, the Municipal Committee has taken over the management of the General Bus Stand in Bannu. To help the Municipal Committee become financially stable, contract amounts will increase by 100 to 300 per cent across various sectors. All contracts were awarded through a transparent process.
TMO Yousaf Khan stated that the Municipal Committee has been facing financial difficulties for a long time. To address these challenges, we successfully presented our contracts this time, which has created the potential for significant financial gains.
Comparative increases from last year’s bids include: 381 percent in the sheep and goat market, 176 percent for sign boards, 86.55 percent for the slaughterhouse, 151.56 percent for entry fees at the new vegetable market, 44.66 percent for the warehouse, 10 percent for the cattle market, 184 percent for the poultry market, 118.93 percent for the basement market, and 90.29 percent for group latrines. Additionally, there was an increase of 52.06 per cent for Pak Rak King, 20.96 per cent for Fazl Qadir Shaheed Park, and 10.08 per cent for the Drug Store at the Cattle Market. The Bus Stand has increased by 30 million.
He emphasised that after receiving these funds, the Municipal Committee will be self-sufficient and will not depend on external sources for salaries.
