PESHAWAR: The death toll from Tuesday’s twin explosions in Bannu has risen to 12 civilians, with 32 others injured, according to security officials.

The blasts, which struck near a military cantonment, sent shockwaves through the area and prompted a swift response from security forces.

Authorities reported that five people were killed when a mosque adjacent to the cantonment collapsed, while seven others died after a house roof caved in following a second explosion.

The second blast was caused by a truck laden with explosives that detonated in a nearby market, officials said.
