NOWSHERA: In a tragic incident in the Pirpai area of Nowshera, unidentified gunmen opened fire on a local business, killing the Bargain owner on the spot, according to police reports.
The victim, identified as Naveed Alam, was the owner of a bargain store and was reportedly at his shop when the assailants targeted him. Police confirmed that Naveed Alam succumbed to his injuries at the scene before medical assistance could arrive.
Law enforcement officials have registered a case against unknown suspects based on the complaint filed by the victim’s father. A formal First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged, and police say a full-scale investigation is now underway. Authorities have begun collecting evidence from the crime scene and are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby shops to identify potential leads. The motive behind the attack remains unknown, and investigators are exploring all angles, including personal enmity, business rivalry, or a targeted killing.
Residents expressed shock and fear following the killing and called on the police and district administration to restore a sense of safety in the area. Many also demanded the swift arrest of those responsible for the murder of Naveed Alam and urged authorities to strengthen patrolling in business hubs.
Pirpai is a semi-urban locality situated on the outskirts of Nowshera city, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Known for its small businesses, general stores, and local trade, the area has grown rapidly over recent years.
However, like many developing towns, it faces challenges related to law enforcement, especially when it comes to street crime, disputes, and unregulated commercial activity.
While not generally considered a high-crime zone, incidents involving personal feuds and unreported conflicts are not uncommon, making security and policing a growing concern for residents and authorities alike.
