Barrister Gohar denies reports of KP CM resignation

ECP can’t declare members honest or trustworthy, says Barrister Gohar

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has strongly denied reports of Ali Amin Gandapur resigning, clarifying that the PTI founder did not ask him to resign.

Talking to media persons, Barrister Gohar said that the PTI founder had only expressed concern about the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but did not give any instructions regarding resignation.

Barrister Gohar clarified that Irfan Saleem and Ayesha Bano will be accommodated elsewhere in the party in future, and no show cause notices have been issued to them or anyone else.

He added that when the news about the auction of Bani Gala came out, he immediately shared it in the legal group. Later, NAB itself clarified that this property is not owned by the PTI founder, and no legal action is pending against him.

Barrister Gohar said that the founder of PTI himself said that he alone is enough to run the movement, and his sons do not need to come; however, if they want to come to Pakistan, they will be well received. He said that the party has no direct contact with the sons of the founder of PTI, nor have they ever been involved in party affairs.

The PTI chairman further said that the founder of PTI wanted that there should be no operation in the province, and the provincial government is also not in favour of the operation. The Grand Alliance currently includes six parties, excluding big parties such as Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s JUI and Jamaat-e-Islami, are not part of the alliance at present.

He also said that there was a wave of protests across the country, but the founder of PTI had instructed not to hold a long march.
